Anyone who uses Facebook will know how annoying it can be when a request pops up inviting you to join a group that you’ve probably never heard of, probably don’t want to join and, if you do, will probably never look at again. But, just occasionally, something arrives that catches your eye. Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of obscure Facebook groups.

(19,538 members) Self-explanatory! Wouldn’t it be fun if bendy buses played pretty tunes? Might brighten Londoners’ days a bit... "to increase the enjoyment of public transport", they say.

(16,042 members) Fluent in Latin? Aramaic? Anything not spoken today? Then yep, you are a cool kid. Or, as I can say in Latin, "Tu adulecens suavis es!"’... We might disagree with this, but over 16,000 people don’t, therefore... hooray for Latin!
