Police Visit Coombe Boys Motivations

Police visit Coombe Boys Motivations

During the autumn term 2009, PC Perks and PC Sage dropped in to the Coombe Boys Motivations programme to deliver a workshop around knife crime and weapons.

The day was a screaming success! The group started by watching a DVD about knife crime and this provoked a lot of discussion, the group made some very positive points and demonstrated their knowledge of the risks that come with carrying a knife.

The police then moved on to show the group some weapons that they have confiscated on the job! This sparked a lot of interest and the group were amazed with some of the stories that came with the demonstration.

Young people were also given the opportunity to try on real police uniform and use real equipment belonging to the officers, the boys were very friendly to the police and enjoyed the day thoroughly!

It’s a shame that all young people can’t hold such positive attitudes towards the police!
