Road Safety
Darker nights
The clocks go back in October and the hours of daylight shorten, meaning that it will be darker when you're out on the roads in the evenings. Make sure that you pay attention for hazards whether you're driving, walking or cycling and be seen easily by wearing bright or high-visibility clothing.
Pay attention when out on the road
While you're out on the road, either as a pedestrian, cyclist, new driver or using any other way of getting around, keep your wits about you.
Thousands of teenagers and young people are either killed or injured every year on the roads. It's might surprise you, but 16 to 24 year olds are one of the most vulnerable age groups on the roads. Don't be a statistic - take a look at some of the safety advice here.
A lot of it might be common sense, but it never hurts to go over the basics again.
