Teenage Activity Group (TAG)

TAG (Teenage Activity Group) aims to empower and optimise the potential of young people, who have a disability, between the ages of 15 – 25. This is achieved through a range of activities.
Young people who attend are offered a diverse range of opportunities for informal and experiential learning in order to gain knowledge, skills, make informed choices and to assist in their personal development to enable them to become active citizens.
As part of Kingston Youth Support Service, we pledge to provide young people with:
- a safe, caring, well equipped environment within reasonable distance of home, accessible to young people with disabilities.
- an opportunity to participate in personal and social development activities including arts, drama, music, sport.
- a wide diversity of projects and youth activities.
- a set of programmes, related to core youth work values and principles, based on a curriculum framework which supports young people’s development in citizenship, the arts, drama, music, sport, and personal and social development, including through residential experiences.
- fair and equal treatment as individuals.
We follow the principles of the five outcomes from every disabled child matters, which are:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic wellbeing
We provide a full programme of activities both on site, at the Devon Way Centre and in the community, which has been developed with the young people who attend, we encourage independence and support the needs of the young people to develop lifelong skills.
