FAB Club
For Any Body
FAB Club is a totally inclusive club for children and young people regardless of ability. At the FAB club we see everyone as equal regardless of disability, learning difficulty, race, sexuality, religious beliefs. We see the person beneath and encourage members to have a go, develop independence and become active and functional members of their community.
We provide a programme that is jam packed full of fun activities. We meet on a Saturday usually from 10.30 – 3.00 (later on trip days) and offer a wide range of varied activities. Please remember to bring a packed lunch unless it says otherwise.
Activities
Over the past year we have combined learning for life experiences in a creative and fun way. For example, ready steady cook, come dine with me and travel challenges. Alongside team challenges where we help members to develop social skills, learn how to compromise, give way and resolve difficulties. We’ve balanced these hard life lessons with trips out where skills are generalised in real situations.

Our year’s programme builds towards a week’s camping holiday in Cornwall. We stay in the village of St Buryan where we are welcomed by the village and join in in their gala week. A week of activities including a five aside football, It’s a Knockout and a fun gala day.

Funding
The Royal Borough of Kingston support the club by funding two youth workers each week and allowing us use of the Devon Way Centre, to fund the termly activities we rely on fund raising ourselves, donations from local support and grant applications (these are more limited in these austere times).
