Participation and Volunteering

Participation... what's it all about? Whether you know it or not, every day people are making decisions that affect YOU. So why not have your say? Get involved with local projects and start influencing your community.

Here are some projects that would benefit from your contributions:

	Kingston Youth Council The KYC is made up of a variety of young people from across the borough who meet up to represent the young people of Kingston's interests and views.		Kingston Cared for and Fostered Council The KCFC is a group that represents young people that are cared for by the borough.
	YU Online Share your interests with other young people through YU Online - the online magazine made by you!

	Funding for your own projects Young Kingston Do you have an idea for a project that will be good for the community? You can apply for funding from Young Kingston to make your idea a reality.

Do something positive with your free time and become a volunteer.·If you're thinking about working in a particular career, then it might be good for you to find a role as a volunteer in a related organisation so you can see what it is like.·You can learn some valuable new skills to put on your CV and you can meet new people.

	Orange RockCorps Join the Orange RockCorps volunteer collective. Give four hours of your time helping with projects that will benefit the community and gain a ticket to exclusive gigs.		Talksafe Talksafe are recruiting young volunteers aged 15-18 to join the team as peer mentors, with the opportunity to gain City & Guilds accreditation in Peer Mentoring.
