Kingston Youth Offending Team
The Kingston Youth Offending Team (YOT) aims to prevent offending and re-offending by young people. The YOT is responsible for the assessment of all young people arrested, pre-court intervention plans and the preparation of court reports and sentence planning as necessary.
The YOT is required to address the underlying issues that can lead to offending behaviour and takes steps to ensure that young people are in education, employment or training (EET), and are living in suitable accommodation. All young people are screened and assessed for evidence of problematic substance misuse and mental health.
‘Rewind’ is Kingston’s YISP (Youth Inclusion Support Panel) and its aim is to identify children and young people aged 8-17 at risk of committing offences, assess their needs and plan multi-agency interventions to avoid them entering the Youth Justice system for the first time
