KAE Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships
Kingston Adult Education Training for Work has apprenticeship programmes delivered to young people between the ages of 16-24 in employment (fully funded for 16-18 yr olds).
- Business Administration
- Information Technology (ITQ)
- Customer Service
Duration: 12-24 months depending on age and level
Framework includes: QCF certificate or diploma level 2 or 3; key skills/functional skills; technical certificate (where appropriate).
Individual training plan developed in consultation with employer and apprentice.
Work-based skills assessment: skills assessment by qualified assessor; portfolio guidance and buildaing; progress and feedback reviews; support for apprentice and employer.
Access to centre-based training support: vocational skills including IT; office skills; communication and interpersonal skills; key skills/functional skills; technical certificates.

KAE Foundation Learning

You will have the chance to:
- Develop skills to gain employment
- Learn about team working
- Find out how to manage your own money
- Improve your IT skills
- Try out a job through a work placement
- Plus: gain functional skills qualifications in English, Maths and ICT and other accreditations (NOCN Progression Certificate and Award).
Attendance: 20 hours a week for 24 weeks (average).
Course also includes the chance to take part in drama, art and music activities.
