Volunteering

Do something positive with your free time and become a volunteer. There are many different volunteering opportunities available in Kingston for a variety of organisations.
Why volunteer?
- If you're thinking about working in a particular career, then it might be good for you to find a role as a volunteer in a related organisation so you can see what it is like.
- You can learn some valuable new skills and put it on your CV.
- You can meet new people and friends.
- If you have lots of free time, this can be a positive way of using it.

Oxygen Mentoring
Oxygen mentoring offers support for young people throughout Kingston Borough who could benefit from someone to talk to. Through mentoring young people are given a place where they can think through issues relating to themselves, their social environment as well as their hopes, dreams and beliefs. Oxygen mentors are trained, CRB checked volunteers. They are supported by a Mentor supervisor, who as well as being available in the case of emergency offers regular support.

Do all this and stay busy on Friday nights at the basement, a partnership project between Oxygen and the YMCA. Volunteer on Friday nights and you can help put on some great events for young people whilst also having some fun yourself!
