Families Apart
Are one of your family members in prison?
Families Apart is a local project based at Kingston WelCare. Parenting Support Workers, are developing this support programme for local families where the young people have a family member in prison.
The project workers will work alongside Kingston’s other service providers to ensure your family receives timely support, advice and information throughout the time you have a significant family member in prison. The support given by the project ensures you will have access to services that will lessen the impact of parental imprisonment, and improve your opportunities to succeed in life.
You family will be able to access this service if you are a young person under 19 years old (or up to 25 years old if you have a disability) and have a significant family member in prison. Your family also needs to be either living in the Kingston area, or you attend a school in Kingston, or are registered with a GP in Kingston.
